The A's first single "After Last Night" from their self titled debut album. The video was made by Arista Records to accompany the album release in 1979. This is before MTV (1981), so this video is very rare. The performance by singer Richard Bush confirms his massive talent as a front man. Guitar by Rick DiFonzo, Drums Mikey Snyder , Bass Terry Bortman and Keyboards by Rocco Notte.

I dont believe you, your always talking about getting drunk when your older, so your saying you didnt experiment with nothing stronger than kool aid, bullshit😂😂
I come back maybe once a year to watch this video. I grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs in the 80s and 90s and saw these folks so many times such a great band. I miss them and I miss that time of my life.
@rcranky64 Glad to hear you were/are a big fan of The Daves. I wonder if there are any other videos out there...this is the only one I know of. ~ (Cyndy Drue/ClassicRockArchive)
There are many videos and entire concerts on you tube
Fred a draft dodger? Officially Fred is 4-F. Unfit is one definition, the other Fred is Fawked 4 times! For those who don't know, that's mental., moral, physical, and intelligence (i.e., low IQ).
Hard to believe that he would fit the profile of a stoner in this video here man and the fact he's a tee total drug and drink free lifestyle is a true credit as 99pc rock bands hit the bottle and drugs and ciggs Super hard.... I'm still shock as he is a deep dude and very switched on... In general... Total respect man
@MP-po6fj - Ted's unique in the r'n r world. One of a kind.
@ClassicRockArchive stranglehold guitar rifts brought me here.. And the fact he's been clean living with all the temptations as a rock star I'm even more astounded tbh. Well said
Might want to google his personal life before giving him total respect lol
Just heard he evaded the army core draft and he's Al. Into guns and shooting lost all respect for the guy now. Wanker
@@Lavy420 heard he evaded the army core sign up back in the day and he's a pro gun slinger and big hunter all usa guy. Could be wrong
That recording studio electric lady was build by Jimmy hendrix before his death
A great song from my senior year of high school. Helped define our era, the best musical era of all time, and the best for other reasons also.
Met Bruce Springsteen at the Green Parrot night club in Neptune or was it Asbury park.
Love you Clarence forever! I grew up in Freehold, my sisters were onto Bruce from his first album on. The world changed when the Bigman joined the band! When Clarence says " it's still there", he didn't know yet, but that was Jake. We were at SHN in Asbury this summer, and Clarence was there too. So much love for this band.
Maestro! I only got to see the later 1983 band. My favorites were Topographic Oceans, Close to the Edge, and Relayer.
GRUPAZO!!!!!!!
Who hasn’t been boed in Philly 😂
How positively stoned…
So absolutely Awesome and real. Wow...just wow
Somethings are meant to be, but I never knew how epic the first meeting between Clarence and Bruce was! Thanks Clarence for your great sax playing and being the heart & soul of the E Street Band!
@dannysimenauer5745 We are so glad Clarence told the story on video for posterity. It's such a great story.
Nothing compares
WSAN was a very connected radio station back in the day. The proximity between NYC and Philly made it a stop along tours, and the people that worked there were amazingly insightful and intuitive in the music business. I’m suprised this tape exists, but really i shouldn’t be considering WSAN was involved.I grew up 4 miles away from this theater, heard about all the concerts held there ( even met the guy who talked the promoter into booking ACDC there) but was a few years too young to attend any, i just saw many movies there. This is cool.
Ty Clarence and Bruce for rocking the night!!
The big man joined the band.
@wakou222 Yup!
So awesome!!!
@erichmedenbach5304 Yes! Glad you enjoyed it.
I've seen Ted several times, the best performance when he opened up in Flint add a trump rally, it was freezing cold with a light rain mixed with snow, he took the stage opened up with stranglehold , spoke to the audience for a while and then introduced president Trump to the stage , unforgettable !
Ted and David Lee Roth should of gotten together and outsass each other and swing from stage vines !
@krisscanlon4051 Ha! I like your imagination!
This was right around the time Ted fired Manowar off their first tour! Also that interviewer is gorgeous! 🤩
What a gteat great story. Miss you Big Man!
He's one of a kind!!
@jdpearce9506 - well said! Very true.
THE ISLEY BROTHERS FOREVER NUMBER ONE.
Se te echa de menos Big man
Meet Jon Anderson,.....Jane his Wife!............
HAHA!
@@ClassicRockArchive Sorry! I couldn't resist!........."JANE! STOP THIS CRAZY THING!"....
@@thecolorgreen7046 Loved the Jetsons! I wish we were all driving those bubble cars in the sky!
I think it was on the Phil Donahue show that TN was being interviewed. Phil said, "come on Ted, we know you have to do drugs" (something like that), TN got up, grabbed Phil by the neck, (lightly) and said as he was moving Phil's head back and forth "I don't do drugs", Phil then said "I believe you" to TN. This was in the 70's I think. I loved listening and attending his concerts when I was young, and saw one probably 20 years ago, all of the hot young girls turned into beautiful Cougars. TN is an American asset, and a Democratic favorite...
Great memory! Thanks for sharing!
great story!
after last night !

Be excellent to each other.......PARTY ON Clarence 😢
This was from June 5, 1979 right?
@essmhtvny165es YES! That is the date of this interview: June 5, 1979. Were you at the show?
Brett my true love, please come to me very soon to be by my side forever. Forever is the deal, remember? We belong together forever. Forever is the deal, remember? I love you so very very much, my true love forever
Never liked Poison. Im a Zepp, Sabbath, Floyd, Rush , Maiden, Hendrix, Black label society. Saw them open in the 80’s for Motley i believe.
If we’re here, he’s here
Class act. We all benefited big-time when he got injured and couldn't play football anymore. RIP Big Man.
Memories.. Hell YES
Great interview! Such interesting background on Black Sabbath. Can’t wait to read the book.
@maredith1977 Thanks! You'll enjoy the book - lots of details about other bands like The Rolling Stones, Beatles, the Grateful Dead, and more!
Any one know who the weirdo with the beard behind mick? Ive seen him with jag alot
@rolfhoffmann4294 - there are three men with a beard behind Mick. The two men without beards are the concert promoters Larry Magid from Philadelphia and Bill Graham from San Francisco. The bearded man with purple shirt might be a security guard. The shorter bearded man might be Mr. Spivak, a partner of Larry Magid's. The bearded man with sunglasses, I don't recognize.
James calaran(secrest)mick jagget
After Danny Federici died in 2008, his replacement on keyboards and accordion was Charlie Giordano, a talented keyboard player from New York who was also a chief collaborator of Pat Benatar.
There was no greater saxophonist than the Big Man. Wish I knew him personally R.I.P.
I NO KAREN. SHE CAME 2 MY HAIR SALON AN MY BOSS CUT HER HAIR. NICE PERSON. SHE SANG AT MY BOSSES WEDDING. SHE DATED BRUCE. I COULD NEVER SEE THEM TOGETHER..WELL KAREN GOT CLARENCE AN BRUCE TOGETHER. NOT 1 DAY GOES BY HES NOT IN MY HEAD. IVE BEEN SICK BUT I WANT 2 MEET U AT ONE OF UR PERFORMANCES. DAD IS WATCHING OVER U FROM HEAVEN. RIP BIG MAN.❤
Yngwie should take some Eric Johnson charm school classes. He is a class act.
Those SVR shows had to be amazing. Two red dirt guitar slingers.
Fantastic!
Yes, the company I worked for did the sound for the band for years. My daughter bought a house in Belmar recently. 10th Avenue and E street blocks away, Karma. The Big Man aka Clarence and the band was always a class act to the crew and audience. Notice I didn't call out Bruce separately as they toured as a band and succeeded as a band. I my 51 years in the industry I label that as smart!
@ronborthwich1145 - what a great career you have! Thanks for your comment here. Are you working on their tour this year?
I see many American comments here. So I'd like to put my pennyworth in. 👉 🇬🇧 Roger is from East Acton, West London.
